News - New Prices, win limits, reset price, incentive and schedule

We have heard many comments over the past few weeks with regards to our new formats. Many of them were very constructive on how we should change things for the better. We will focus as we always have on making the site the best that it can be.

New Prices: Because of the number of auctions and the return on investment that we have always tried to give our users we have lowered our prices. These changes go into affect today so if you had a subscription of a week or two weeks we have credited your subscription to account for this change by adding more time. As with our previous prices the new prices will allow you to get a deal of 50% or more (depending on auctions end price of course).

New Win limits: As with every work in progress we realized that there was no incentive to buy the weekly and bi-weekly subscriptions because the win limits were set to low to allow you to bid and still get a deal in the end. We have revised our win limits so that you can win more on a weekly and monthly basis. As activity picks up we will also revise the daily limit based on the number of auctions we are running.

Reset Price: After watching quite a few auctions we have decided that having it set in the higher range was just not an incentive. Because you could actually still wind up paying a bit over the retail of the item. So we have revised the rest prices to reset just below the retail price. This means that you should NEVER be over retail (adding a daily subscription to the ending price of the auction) - and if you do by some method manage to go over retail we will refund the difference back to you.

Schedule: We are still working on finding just the right time of day to schedule auctions. We would really like input on this from our users as it seems that some users prefer the earlier auctions and some prefer the later auctions. The more input we have on this will greatly help us to bring you more auctions. For the next few weeks as we gather more feedback we will be moving them around a little bit on a weekly basis to attempt to find the sweet spot that users like and are available for.

Incentive: It has always been a hard push to get users to tell thier friends about a site. Telling your friends creates more competition and since this is competitive shopping at its best, the less competition you have the better. Well to combat this we are offering an incentive of subscription matching. Anyone you refer who signs up and purchases a subscript will credit you with an equal subscription. So if your friend signs up and purchases a daily subscription you will receive a daily subscription for free. - BUT - Because of the times and days we run auctions it will not be automatically credited. E-mail us when you know a referral has signed up and purchased. Tell us when you would like the subscription added and we will place it on your account at that time. This way your free subscription period doesn't end up being on a Friday when no auctions are running.
