Welcome To BargainsandFun.com
September 2nd, 2010
It was brought to our attention last night that some users were able to continue bidding after thier win limits had been reached. When we investigated the issue we found that this were true and that not only had the users been able to bid but also to win.
Our First Priority was to resolve the issue - the issue was soley based on the addition of the seat auctions and the removal of the Category Win limits. Due to an issue in the programming a variable was not being read properly and was not blocking the bids as it should have. This issue has been resloved.
Next we reviewed all of the bidding records for all auctions over the past 2 weeks (when the original change occured). We found 3 auctions (all last night) where a user was bidding that should not have been allowed to bid. We have voided the following auctions, returned any final payments made and returned all bids that were used on those auctions.
Auction 1584 - Sony PSPGo - Ended 9/1/2010
Auction 1585 - Apple Ipod - Ended 9/1/2010
Auction 1586 - $50 Gift Card & 50 Bid Combo - Ended 9/1/2010
No user accounts have been disabled for rule violations because the nature of the problem was not a user trying to circumvent the win limits, but an error on our system that allowed this user to bid.
